Getting to Know Worship Leader Jacob

1. What is your favorite part about Racine?

My favorite part of Racine is definitely being able to see the city grow and new local businesses opening up. I work in Downtown Racine, so being able to see all the new stores and restaurants opening up down here makes me excited what the next five years will look like for Racine.

2. What is your favorite local place to eat?

I love so many restaurants in Racine. Recently it has been Mrs. Betty's Kitchen. They have the BEST Chicken and Waffles hands down. I also never say no to Olde Madrid or Santa Fe Tacos on High Street.

3. What is your ideal day off?

An ideal day would be one I get to spend going on adventures with my wife, Abbie where we find something new to do.

4. Where would you go on an all expenses paid vacation?

I would love to say that I'd love to explore Europe, but in my heart, I know I'd take a resort in Mexico over anything else.

5. What was the last show you binged watched?

I try watching other shows, but I always go back to binging the Office over and over... and OVER again.

6. Do you prefer Pepsi, Coke, or Sparkling Water?

I am a Coke man all the way although I like to slum it occasionally with sparkling water.

7. Are you a coffee or tea drinker?

Coffee, obviously. Abbie used to work at Starbucks so I think I might be in trouble if I said tea (kidding!)

8. What led you to Belle City Church?

For the longest time, I had a desire to be a part of a church plant in Racine. Then I heard about Justin starting this idea and I was sold immediately.

9. Give one cool God story from the last 2 years at Belle City Church.

This isn't specific, but overall, God's provision for Belle City has been something awesome to see unfold. From the people of our church that have been called to Belle City, to the transition from Gilmore Middle to Jerstad Elementary. God has been guiding our body of believers. As worship director, it's uncommon to have as many gifted people willing to serve on worship team for a church our age and size so that has been a huge blessing to my ministry.

10. What is one random fun fact about yourself that nobody would ever guess?

I love watching bad movies. There's something about the poor quality of acting or script or plot that I truly enjoy. A favorite of mine is Kazaam starring Shaquille O'Neal. It's a masterpiece. Other notable mentions are Batman & Robin, From Justin to Kelly, and Jack and Jill.
